Free Stuff – Everyone wants to help out a start up!

What do dogs and start ups have in common? A lot of things in life are free (or at least they are if you are boot strapping). Woof !

With limited funds (like many other startups), we are big proponents of free stuff  here at our startup ( And I must say we have not been disappointed by the support and generosity of our community both in person and online.

So the free tool of the day goes to…. the cube a.k.a. “Netbeans”

NetBeans is an open-source project dedicated to providing rock solid software development products (the NetBeans IDE and the NetBeans Platform) that address the needs of developers, users and the businesses who rely on NetBeans as a basis for their products.

Why we think Netbeans is cool?

It makes coding much easier (for us newbe developers), for example, the ‘style builder function’ that  automatically generates CSS HTML code for you (all you need to do is select the desired criteria ). It will also debug your work and give you suggestions (HTML tag uses and further reading links) along the way. Well worth checking it out. It is a key tool we are using to write our new killer site ( – woof!

Finally just a quick shout out to Bill, CEO and founder of Rezstream ( Rezstream has a great online booking engine for the hotel industry but are releasing some really cool new products. Bill has been a great resource so far for our startup (and even took our owners to a ball game).

If you have a link to anything that may help a startup – ie cool tools, big bones or free tennis balls please let us know.

Time to run –

King Boomer!
